A worthwhile visit...

A little while ago, my business received a visit from a couple of guys who said they were from a company called 5G Communications.

Naturally I was quite wary as I asked how I could help them, but as luck would have it I was pleasently surprised with their answer. They said that they would like to talk to me about my current 'on-hold' solution for customers waiting to talk to our people on the phone. I was pleasently surprised as not two days before, I had been having a conversation with one of my head managers about the prospect of putting a proper on-hold system on to our current phone system to reduce caller hang ups.

The guys from 5G were great, they inspected my (then) current system for on-hold customers, which I am ashamed to admit was very little, simply a monotonous beeping tone to let customers know that they were on hold. The guys advised me that with such a basic on-hold system I could be losing business on two fronts; firstly through increased customer hang ups, but also through missing the marketing and promotional opportunities that are available with a properly managed Music-on-Hold solution.

After the guys showed me through all the features of their proposed Music-on-Hold solution, I must admit I was very impressed. The guys had put together a very well thought out presentation and I was well and truly caught - hook, line and sinker.

5G installed my music-on-hold solution just over 3 months ago, and I have to say the difference it has made to my business is phenomenal. Now I can promote all my products and services to my captive on-hold audience and I'm starting to get enquiries about products without me even having to mention them, which never ever happened before.

So, I am a very happy bunny. Especially now I know that I'm not losing any customers through poor call management.

Just a good job I didn't turn the guys away!
