If you are a 5G business broadband customer but would prefer to use your own router, then it is important that you configure the settings of your chosen router correctly.
Use the router's instructions to find out how to access your router's configuration settings, and from there you can apply the following rules to ensure that your router is configured to 5G broadband:
These settings apply for all DSL services offered including ADSL, ADSL2+ and SDSL...
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Encapsulation/Protocol: PPPoATM (RFC2364)
Framing Mode/ Multiplexing: VC-MUX / Null / VC
Authentication: CHAP
WAN IP & Gateway configuration: Negotiate upon connection
Note that it is important for the gateway IP to be automatically negotiated as we will use a range of different gateways determined upon connection.
Modern routers will offer an automatic setting for modulation which will detect the type of service provided, this should be selected if available.
ADSL: G.DMT / G.992.1
ADSL2+: G.992.5 (Annex A)
SDSL: G.991.2 (Annex B)
DNS should be configured to be negotiated upon connection, however, where these are required to be manually configured they are as follows:
Primary Name Server: 62.69.62.6
Secondary Name Server: 62.69.62.7
