At 9am this morning we experienced a major service outage with 5G Premier. It caused hosted IP telephone systems to stop working.

The system is fully restored and customers should now not be experiencing any issue. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you if it becomes necessary.

SERVICE: 5G Premier Service

 

IMPACT: Outage

 

Incident Details:

Monitoring system detected platform alarms which were acknowledged by the NOC and support engineers informed.

Progress Details:

Support engineers identified that both the active and standby core platform servers were in an indeterminate state, platform vendors were informed and worked with engineers to recover the platform.

Corrective action Taken:

Manual intervention was required to restart the previously active server to allow the standby to take mastership, this returned the platform back to normal operation.

 

 

Additional Comments:

This was an extremely rare occurrence and the platform has run without issue with over 99.99% uptime in the past two years. The supplier has taken a full set of system logs and will be subjecting them to in-depth analysis over the next few days.

Next Update:

A Further update will be provided once our platform vendors have provided a full report on the route cause.
