"A sales man came to us.
He gave us the usual story, save you lots of money, no problems, great service...and here's the clincher...free broadband!
Six months down the line I had no broadband, well maybe one day a week. The quality of the calls I was making were awful but admittedly I did save some money on my phone bill.
My solution..
One night I was out with a couple of friends telling them my story of woe and a gentleman overheard what I was saying. He told me that next time I made a call at work to prefix the number I was calling with 1280. He said that if the quality of the call was better to give him a call, I took his business card.
I couldn't believe it, it was like night and day. It turned out the man I had run into was the MD of 5G and the reason the calls were so different was because they had been taken off the BT Network and carried over an alternative network.
By dialing 1280 before the number I’d sent it over the BT network, the difference was amazing.
When I called him to ask him what had happened he explained the difference in the calls to me and then asked me to be one of his customers.
Now 5G provides me with these calls but at wholesale prices!
It hasn't all been plain sailing, the company I was with sent me a pretty nasty letter saying that I owed them a fairly hefty cancellation fee. I wasn't pleased to say the least so I called 5G to complain.
I was pleasantly surprised because the person I spoke to, Lucy, asked me to send the letter over to 5G and they would deal with it. I sent it and that was the last I heard of them!"
