"While looking for a new telephone system I stumbled across Hosted IP Telephony. Almost by accident. Its big advantage to me is that it gives me lots of information that I need to run my business without being in and around the office.

I can tell who has been on the phone, who they have called and who has called them. If an incoming call is not answered within three rings it goes to my PA and if she doesn't answer it, it comes to me whether it would be on my mobile or at home. That’s only happened once and I don't think it will happen again.

In a nutshell it gives me control of my business even when I'm not there and I can view anything in real time, anywhere there’s a computer with broadband.

Because the system is hosted by somebody else any new technology that comes along is updated centrally and means I won’t have to buy a new telephone system every 5 years just to keep up."
