What is SIP Trunking?

SIP Trunking allows for your existing PBX switches to be connected to our IP Voice services through the use of broadband or ethernet connections.

Why use SIP Trunks?

There are many reasons to use SIP Trunking to transfer your existing equipment over to our IP Voice services. We have listed some of these below:

  • FREE calls - Between IP network sites
  • Scaleable on a 'per channel' basis - Unlike ISDN where you must order in units of two.
  • Easy to order and provision
  • Flexible Numbering - You can work from London on a Leeds number or vica versa. You can have 5 different geographical numbers on the same line to present a “UK wide” image without the overhead of different locations
  • Full dedicated emergency support - 24/7 support line
  • Compliments a converged network - Lower costs and simplified architecture

How do SIP Trunks work?

SIP Trunking is a very simple process, take a look at our SIP Trunking guide, below:

STEP 1:

Simply find an appropriate 5G IP connection or use an existing connection, if you have one.

STEP 2:

Get a SIP trunk, specifying the number of simultanious calls, or trunks, you require.

STEP 3:

Connect up your equipment, either directly or through an additional media outlet.
