With the 21CN roll out set to change the whole of the UK's telecoms industry, the natural concern is whether your current communications equipment will continue to work in the same way as it always has done, after the switch over.
In these early stages of the implementation of the next generation network tests are being carried out on much of the equipment that is commonly used today. As a result of the testing being carried out, BT expects that the vast majority of customer equipment that is currently connected to telephone lines and broadband services, should all work as normal after the switch over is complete, although tests are still ongoing.
The test currently comprises of: telephone handsets, modems (both dial-up and broadband), fax machines, answering machines, plus an extensive range of more specialist equipment, such as security devices.
Soon, a full list of compatible equipment will have been compiled but in the mean time, the best thing to do if you are unsure or worried about how your current equipment will perform after the roll out, is to give the experts a call...
