If you are experiencing problems with your broadband services or internet access, there are some simple troubleshooting checks that you can carry out to eliminate all possible, fixable causes.
Of course, if the problem is more serious, we will be able to provide you with some assistance...
CHECK 1: Router Configuration...
Is your router properly connected?
If your router has not been properly configured, then internet access issues are likely to occur. Find out more on our router configuration page.
CHECK 2: Make sure your modem is properly connected...
Check all of your physical connections to make sure that they are securely in their correct ports and that your modem is functioning correctly. Try turning off your modem off and replacing all the connections in the right order.
Then switch back on, checking that all the modem lights are all green.
Finally, make sure that any other equipment attached to the phone line is routed through a Broadband filter. If any of the following equipment is connected to your line without a filter it can interfere with your broadband connection:
If you think that a certain piece of equipment, attached to your line is possibly the cause of your problem, disconnect the product in question and try connecting again.
CHECK THREE: Check your firewall settings...
Sometimes internet connectivity issues can be caused by your firewall blocking specific data from reaching your computer. You can determine whether this is the case by temporarily switching off your firewall, through your PC's internet options.
If, once you have switched off your firewall, you are able to access the internet again, then your internet fault is likely to be a firewall related issue. With the firewall temporarily disabled, you can use the internet to search for a solution.
REMEMBER to make sure to replace your firewall settings once you are finished searching for a solution!
If you have tried all of our troubleshooting steps and still find yourself unable to access your broadband services, then don't hesitate to give us a call and we can help you to find a speedy resolution.
We're happy to help!
